ক্যান্সারে আক্রান্ত হয়ে মৃত্যু হল মহারাষ্ট্রের বিজেপি বিধায়ক লক্ষণ জগতাপের (Laxman Pandurang Jagtap)। মৃত্যুকালে তাঁর বয়স হয়েছিল ৫৯ বছর। তাঁর মৃত্যুতে শোক প্রকাশ করে প্রধানমন্ত্রী নরেন্দ্র মোদী লেখেন - 'মহারাষ্ট্র বিধানসভার বিধায়ক শ্রী লক্ষ্মণ জগতাপ জির প্রয়াণে ব্যথিত। তিনি জনকল্যাণে এবং পুনে ও আশেপাশের এলাকার উন্নয়নে বিরাট অবদান রেখেছিলেন। তার পরিবার ও সমর্থকদের প্রতি সমবেদনা। ওম শান্তি।
