কেন্দ্রীয় সড়ক পরিবহন ও মহাসড়ক মন্ত্রী নীতিন গড়কড়ি বলেছেন, ২০২৭ সালের মধ্যে দেশের সমস্ত পৌরসভা এলাকা থেকে সংগৃহীত বর্জ্য রাস্তা নির্মাণের জন্য ব্যবহার করার পরিকল্পনা গ্রহণ করা হয়েছে। গতকাল চেন্নাইয়ের কাছে একটি বেসরকারি ইঞ্জিনিয়ারিং কলেজের সমাবর্তন অনুষ্ঠানে ভাষণ দিতে গিয়ে তিনি বলেন, ইতোমধ্যেই ৮০ লক্ষ টন বর্জ্য রাস্তা নির্মাণের জন্য ব্যবহার করা হয়েছে। আহমেদাবাদ-পুনে মহাসড়ক নির্মাণে ২৫ লক্ষ টন বর্জ্য ব্যবহার করা হয়েছে এবং মুম্বাই-দিল্লি মহাসড়ক নির্মাণে ৪০ লক্ষ টন জন্য ব্যবহার করা হয়েছে। তিনি বলেন পৌর এলাকার বর্জ্য সহ বিভিন্ন উৎস থেকে হাইড্রোজেন আহরণের জন্য অনেক গবেষণামূলক উদ্যোগ নেওয়া হয়েছে।
