ভারতবর্ষ কয়লার দেশ, আরও একবার সেই তথ্যকে সামনে আনল দেশের কয়লা মন্ত্রক। সূত্রের খবর গত চার বছরে কয়লা উৎপাদন ধারাবাহিকভাবে বেড়েছে। ভারতের কয়লা উৎপাদন ২০১৯-২০ সালের তুলনায় ২০২৩-২৪ আর্থিক বছরে ১১ দশমিক ৭ শতাংশ বৃদ্ধি পেয়েছে। এপ্রিল থেকে আগস্ট পর্যন্ত দেশের কয়লা উৎপাদন ছিল ৩৮ কোটি চল্লিশ লক্ষ টনের বেশি, যা গত বছরের একই সময়ের তুলনায় ৬ শতাংশ বেশী । ২০২৩ সালে এপ্রিল-অগস্ট এই সময়ে ৩৬ কোটি ১১ লক্ষ টন কয়লা উৎপাদন হয়। কয়লা মন্ত্রকের প্রকাশিত তথ্য অনুসারে, এই সময়কালে কয়লা উৎপাদন এবং সরবরাহের ক্ষেত্রে ইতিবাচক একটি প্রবণতা দেখা গেছে। অগাস্ট মাসে ভারী বৃষ্টিপাত-এর কারণে কিছু সমস্যা দেখা দেয়।
