ভারতীয় আবহাওয়া বিভাগ (IMD) জানিয়েছে যে এই বছর জুন থেকে সেপ্টেম্বর পর্যন্ত দক্ষিণ-পশ্চিম মৌসুমি বৃষ্টিপাত স্বাভাবিকের চেয়ে বেশি হওয়ার সম্ভাবনা রয়েছে। আজ নয়াদিল্লিতে সাংবাদিক সম্মেলনে আইএমডি-র মহাপরিচালক ডঃ মৃত্যুঞ্জয় মহাপাত্র (IMD Dr Mrutyunjay Mohapatra) বলেছেন যে উত্তর-পূর্ব, উত্তর-পশ্চিম এবং দক্ষিণ উপদ্বীপ ভারতের কিছু অঞ্চল বাদে দেশের বেশিরভাগ অংশে স্বাভাবিকের চেয়ে বেশি মৌসুমি বৃষ্টিপাতের সম্ভাবনা রয়েছে যেখানে স্বাভাবিকের চেয়ে কম বৃষ্টিপাতের সম্ভাবনা রয়েছে। তিনি বলেন যে বর্ষার মরসুমে নিরপেক্ষ এল নিনো পরিস্থিতি অব্যাহত থাকার সম্ভাবনা রয়েছে।
