কোভিডের নতুন প্রজাতি নিয়ে ভয়ের কোনও কারণ নেই। বললেন আইসিএমআর-এর ডিজি ডঃ রাজীব বাহল। সোমবার তিনি বলেছেন, "কোভিড-১৯ এর এই নতুন প্রজাতি নিয়ে জনসাধারণের উদ্বিগ্ন হওয়ার দরকার নেই। আমাদের কেবল সতর্ক থাকতে হবে। সরকার এবং সমস্ত সংস্থা কী ঘটছে তা পর্যবেক্ষণ করছে।"
আইসিএমআর ডিজি আরও বলেছেন, "আমার মতে, প্রাথমিক সতর্কতা অবলম্বন করা উচিত। আমরা এখনই বর্ধিত সতর্কতার কথা বলছি না। তবে যদি কেউ ক্যান্সার রোগী হন অথবা তাঁর রোগ প্রতিরোধ ক্ষমতার সমস্যা থাকে, তাহলে আমরা সাধারণত তাদের যে কোনও সংক্রমণ এড়াতে পরামর্শ দিই। সতর্কতা অবলম্বন করা প্রয়োজন।"
