ভয়াবহ অগ্নিকাণ্ডের ঘটনা ঘটল উত্তর প্রদেশের (Uttar Pradesh) গ্রেটার নয়ডা ওয়েস্টের (Greater Noida West) ১৬ এভিনিউ গৌর সিটিতে। সকাল ৯টা ৩৫ মিনিটে স্থানীয় দমকল অফিসে (Fire Service Department) ফোন করে জানানো হয়। তারপর তড়িঘড়ি দমকলের গাড়ি নিয়ে তাঁরা পৌঁছয় ঘটনাস্থলে। এরপর চলে অগ্নি নির্বাপনের কাজ। দমকল আধিকারিকরা জানিয়েছেন, এখনও আগুন নিয়ন্ত্রণে আসেনি, আর তাই লেলিহান শিখা ক্রমে ওপরের ফ্ল্যাটগুলির দিকে পৌঁছাচ্ছে। তবে যে ফ্ল্যাটে আগুন লেগেছিল সেখানে সেই সময় কেউ উপস্থিত না থাকায় হতাহতের কোনও খবর নেই। তবে আশেপাশের ফ্ল্যাটের বাসিন্দারা আটকে পড়েছিল। দমকল বাহিনী তাঁদের জন্য উদ্ধারকাজ শুরু করেছে।
