শ্রীনিবাসনের মেয়ে শারদা তাঁর বাবার মৃত্যু সংবাদ দেশবাসীর সঙ্গে ভাগ করে নিয়েছেন। তিনি জানান, সোমবার রাতে তামিলনাড়ুর উটিতে বাবা রামস্বামী হঠাৎ করেই অসুস্থ হয়ে পড়েন। তাঁকে হাসপাতালে নিয়ে যাওয়া হয়।
বিশিষ্ট বিজ্ঞানী মালুর রামস্বামী শ্রীনিবাসন (Malur Ramasamy Srinivasan) প্রয়াত হলেন। ভারতের পারমাণবিক বিদ্যুৎ কর্মসূচি এবং দেশীয় চাপযুক্ত ভারী জল চুল্লির উন্নয়নে গুরুত্বপূর্ণ ভূমিকা পালনকারী বিজ্ঞানী ৯৫ বছর বয়সে মারা গেলেন। শ্রীনিবাসনের মেয়ে শারদা তাঁর বাবার মৃত্যু সংবাদ দেশবাসীর সঙ্গে ভাগ করে নিয়েছেন। তিনি জানান, সোমবার রাতে তামিলনাড়ুর উটিতে বাবা রামস্বামী হঠাৎ করেই অসুস্থ হয়ে পড়েন। তাঁকে হাসপাতালে নিয়ে যাওয়া হয়। মঙ্গলবার ভোর ৪টে নাগাদ মৃত্যুর কোলে ঢোলে পড়েন তিনি। পদ্মবিভূষণ, পদ্মভূষণ এবং পদ্মশ্রী একাধারে তিন পদ্ম পুরস্কার প্রাপ্ত বিজ্ঞানীর মৃত্যু সংবাদে শোক প্রকাশ করেছেন লোকসভার বিরোধী দলনেতা মল্লিকার্জুন খাড়গে (Mallikarjun Kharge)। এক্স হ্যান্ডেলে লেখেন, 'এমন একজন অগ্রণী পারমাণবিক বিজ্ঞানীর মৃত্যু ভারতের বৈজ্ঞানিক সম্প্রদায়ের জন্য এক উল্লেখযোগ্য ক্ষতি'।
