গুপ্তচরবৃত্তির অভিযোগ ছিল তাদের বিরুদ্ধে। ফাঁসির আদেশও শোনানো হয়েছিল। তবে প্রধানমন্ত্রী নরেন্দ্র মোদী এবং ভারত সরকারের প্রচেষ্টায় ৮ জনকেই মুক্তি দিল কাতার। রবিবার তারা দিল্লিতে এসে পৌছেছেন।
মুক্তি পাওয়া ৮ জনের মধ্যে ১ জন জানান, "আমরা খুশি যে আমরা ভারতে এসেছি। অবশ্যই আমরা প্রধানমন্ত্রী মোদীকে ধন্যবাদ দিতে চাই। এটা প্রধানমন্ত্রী নরেন্দ্র মোদীর ব্যক্তিগত প্রচেষ্টার কারণেই সম্ভব হয়েছে বলে জানান তিনি।"
