ওড়িশা এবং পশ্চিমবঙ্গের উপকূলে ঘূর্ণিঝড় ডানার মারাত্মক প্রভাবের আশঙ্কায় নিজেদের প্রস্তুতি শুরু করে দিল ভারতীয় নৌবাহিনী। মানবিক সহায়তা এবং দুর্যোগ ত্রাণ (HADR operations) অপারেশন পরিচালনা করার জন্য সকাল থেকেই উপকূলীয় অঞ্চলগুলিতে প্রস্তুতি নিচ্ছে তাঁরা।
ইস্টার্ন নেভাল কমান্ড এর তরফে অন্ধ্রপ্রদেশ, ওড়িশা এবং পশ্চিমবঙ্গে নেভাল অফিসার-ইন-চার্জ (NOIC)-এর সঙ্গে সমন্বয় স্থাপন করে আসন্ন ব্যাপক বিপর্যয় রোধে তাঁরা তাঁদের মেকানিজমগুলিকে সক্রিয় করেছে। এছাড়া নেভাল কমান্ডের তরফে বেস ভিকচুয়ালিং ইয়ার্ড (Base Victualling Yard), মেটেরিয়াল অর্গানাইজেশন এবং নৌ হাসপাতাল আইএনএইচএস কল্যাণীর (INHS Kalyani) মতো ইউনিটগুলির সঙ্গে নিবিড়ভাবে কাজ করে চলেছে। ভারতীয় নৌবাহিনীর তরফে জানানো হয়েছে যদি রাজ্য প্রশাসনের তরফ থেকে সাহায্য চাওয়া হয় তবে প্রয়োজনীয় সরবরাহ এবং চিকিত্সা সহায়তা প্রদান করতে তাঁরা প্রস্তুত।
