ভারতের নির্বাচন কমিশন (ইসিআই) গত শুক্রবার আসামে আরও তিনটি বিধানসভা কেন্দ্র তফসিলি উপজাতি (এসটি) এবং তফসিলি জাতি (এসসি) এর জন্য আরও একটি আসন সংরক্ষিত করে সীমানা নির্ধারণের চূড়ান্ত আদেশ প্রকাশ করেছে।
আসামের মুখ্যমন্ত্রী হিমন্ত বিশ্ব শর্মা বুধবার ঘোষণা করেছেন যে রাষ্ট্রপতি আসামের জন্য ভারতের নির্বাচন কমিশন কর্তৃক জারি করা সীমাবদ্ধতার যে বিজ্ঞপ্তি তা অনুমোদন করেছেন।মুখ্যমন্ত্রী এই অনুমোদনকে "আসামের ইতিহাসে একটি উল্লেখযোগ্য মাইলফলক" বলে অভিহিত করেছেন।

ভারতের নির্বাচন কমিশন (ইসিআই) গত শুক্রবার আসামে আরও তিনটি বিধানসভা কেন্দ্র তফসিলি উপজাতি (এসটি) এবং তফসিলি জাতি (এসসি) এর জন্য আরও একটি আসন সংরক্ষিত করে সীমানা নির্ধারণের চূড়ান্ত আদেশ প্রকাশ করেছে। নামকরণের সময় অন্তত ১৯টি বিধানসভা কেন্দ্রের নামকরণও সংশোধন করা হয়েছে। কমিশন অবশ্য বিধানসভা আসনের মোট সংখ্যা ১২৬টি এবং লোকসভা আসন ১৪টি ধরে রেখেছে।
