অসমে বৃষ্টি শুরু হওয়ায় বাড়ছে ব্রহ্মপুত্রের জলও। শুধু ব্রহ্মপুত্র নয় অসমের অন্যান্য নদী যেমন ডিসাং, সুবনসারি, দেখাহো, বুড়িদেহিং, বেকি এবং বরাক নদীর জলও বিপদসীমার উপর দিয়ে বইছে।
অরুণাচল প্রদেশে প্রবল বর্ষণের কারণে ব্রহ্মপুত্র নদের জল বাড়তে শুরু করে। তার জেরে গত কয়েকদিন ধরে অসমের একাধিক এলাকা প্লাবিত। এদিকে অসমে বৃষ্টি শুরু হওয়ায় বাড়ছে ব্রহ্মপুত্রের জলও। শুধু ব্রহ্মপুত্র নয় অসমের অন্যান্য নদী যেমন ডিসাং, সুবনসারি, দেখাহো, বুড়িদেহিং, বেকি এবং বরাক নদীর জলও বিপদসীমার উপর দিয়ে বইছে।
সবচেয়ে বেশি ক্ষতিগ্রস্ত হয়েছে অসমের বরাক ভ্যালি। করিমগঞ্জ জেলা এবং আপার অসমের তিনসুকিয়া, লখিমপুর, ডিব্রুগড়ের বিস্তীর্ণ এলাকা প্লাবিত হয়েছে। অসমের ডিব্রুগড়ের উত্তরে প্লাবিত ব্রহ্মপুত্রের একটি ছোট দ্বীপ থেকে ১৩ জনকে উদ্ধার করেছে ভারতীয় বায়ু সেনার একটি দল। দেখুন সেই ছবি-
