এই বন্যার কারণে প্রায় ৪৩০০০ লোক ক্ষতিগ্রস্ত হয়েছে। বন্যার জলে নষ্ট হয়ে গেছে জমির ফসল। এমনকি মৎস চাষের সঙ্গে যুক্ত ব্যক্তিরাও ব্যাপক ক্ষতির সম্মুখীন হয়েছে।
অসমের বারপেটা জেলায় বন্যা পরিস্থিতি আরও খারাপ হয়ে উঠছে। সংবাদ মাধ্যম সূত্রের খবর ইতিমধ্যেই এই বন্যার কারণে প্রায় ৪৩০০০ লোক ক্ষতিগ্রস্ত হয়েছে। বন্যার জলে নষ্ট হয়ে গেছে জমির ফসল। এমনকি মৎস চাষের সঙ্গে যুক্ত ব্যক্তিরাও ব্যাপক ক্ষতির সম্মুখীন হয়েছে। এরকম পরিস্থিতিতে সরকারী ক্ষতিপূরণের আশায় রয়েছে কৃষক সহ মৎসজীবি পরিবারের সদস্যরা।

রতন দাস নামে বারপেটা জেলার এক কৃষক এ এন আই কে দেওয়া সাক্ষাৎকারে বলেছেন- আমি একজন কৃষক এবং এই বন্যায় আমার জমির পাট ফসল নষ্ট করে দিয়েছে। চাষের কাজে আমার ১৫০০০ টাকা খরচ হয়েছে। এই বন্যায় আমি সব হারিয়েছি, এখন কি করব? আমার বাড়িও জলের তোড়ে ভেসে গেছে। সরকার যদি সাহায্য করতে পারে তাহলে ভালো হয়।
