তামিল(Tami) ইন্ডাস্ট্রির আইকন হিসেবেই পরিচিত তিনি। তাঁকে বহু আগে থেকেই ভগবানের আসনে বসিয়েছেন তামিলরা। তবে এবার তা হল পাকাপাকিভাবে। থিরুমাঙ্গালামের মাদুরাইয়ের (Mdurai)আরুলমিগু শ্রী রাজনি মন্দিরে পাকাপাকিভাবে বসল তামিল অভিনেত রজনীকান্তর(Rajinikanth ) মূর্তি। তাঁর বিখ্যাত ছবি 'মাপিল্লাই' বিশেষ চরিত্রের আদলে গড়া হয়েছে এই মূর্তি। যা দেখতে ভিড় জমাচ্ছেন ভক্তরা। আজ, ১২ ডিসেম্বর তামিল সুপারস্টার রজনীকান্তের ৭৪ তম জন্মদিন। আর এই বিশেষ দিনেই উদ্বোধন হতে চলেছে এই মূর্তি। তার আগে দুধ দিয়ে স্নান করিয়ে এই মূর্তির অভিষেক করা হচ্ছে।
