গতকাল থেকে নতুন দিল্লিতে শুরু  হয়েছে ভারত-ইজরায়েল বিদেশ দপ্তরের সপ্তদশ আলোচনা বৈঠক। যেখানে ভারতের হয়ে নেতৃত্ব দেন বিদেশ সচিব বিক্রম মিসরি। অন্যদিকে, ইজরায়েলের পক্ষে নেতৃত্বে ছিলেন সেদেশের বিদেশ মন্ত্রকের ডিরেক্টর জেনারেল ইয়াকভ ব্লিটশটেইন।দুদেশের কৌশলগত অংশীদারিত্বের ওপর গুরুত্ব দিয়ে দ্বিপাক্ষিক স্বার্থ-সংশ্লিষ্ট বিভিন্ন বিষয় আলোচনা করেন তাঁরা। পশ্চিম এশিয়া এবং ভারত-প্রশান্ত মহাসাগরীয় অঞ্চলের বর্তমান পরিস্থিতি নিয়েও উভয় পক্ষ মতবিনিময় করেছে।গত বছরের ৭ই অক্টোবর ইজরায়েলের উপর হামাসের হামলার দ্ব্যর্থহীন ভাষায় নিন্দা করে বিদেশ সচিব বিক্রম  সমস্ত বন্দীদের অবিলম্বে নিঃশর্ত মুক্তি, যুদ্ধবিরতি, মানবিক সহায়তা এবং মানবতা সংক্রান্ত আন্তর্জাতিক আইন মেনে চলার আহ্বান জানিয়েছেন।একই সঙ্গে তিনি পশ্চিম এশিয়ার সাম্প্রতিক পরিস্থিতি নিয়ে উদ্বেগ প্রকাশ করে আলোচনা ও কূটনীতির মাধ্যমে সংঘাত নিরসনের ওপর জোর দেন।

The Indian side was led by Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri and the Israeli side was led by the Director General of the Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs Yaakov Blitshtein.
