Tabla maestro Zakir Hussain Passes away: থামল তবলা। প্রয়াত হলেন বিশ্বখ্যাত তবলা বাদক উস্তাদ জাকির হুসেন (Zakir Hussain)। ৭৩ বছর বয়েসে মার্কিন মার্কিন যুক্তরাষ্ট্রের স্যান ফ্রান্সিসকোর এক হাসপাতালে মারা গেলেন তবলা সম্রাট। হৃদযন্ত্র ও ফুসফুসের সমস্যা নিয়ে তিনি হাসপাতালে ভর্তি হন। তাঁর মৃত্যুতে শোকস্তব্ধ দেশ। সেভাবে সঙ্গীত জগতের খবর না রাখা ভারতীয়দের কাছে তবলা মানেই জাকির হুসেন। এমনটা বলাই যায়। দেশে-বিদেশে সব বড় পুরস্কারই তিনি জিতেছেন।
গোটা বিশ্বের দর্শকদের কাছেই জাকির হুসেন-এর তবলা মানেই মন্ত্রমুগ্ধতা। প্রথম ভারতীয় শিল্পী তিনি এক রাতে তিনটি গ্র্যামি জেতেন। গত বছর পদ্মবিভূষণে ভূষিত করা হয় জাকির হুসেন-কে।
