মুম্বই: আজ আন্তর্জাতিক কন্যা শিশু দিবস। প্রতি বছর ১১ অক্টোবর সারা বিশ্বে আন্তর্জাতিক কন্যা শিশু দিবস পালন হয়। এই দিনটি উদযাপনের উদ্দেশ্য হলো সারা বিশ্বে মেয়েদের সবকিছুতে অংশগ্রহণ বাড়ানো, নারী অধিকার এবং নারীর ক্ষমতায়ন সম্পর্কে সচেতনা বৃদ্ধি করা। আধুনিক পৃথিবীতে ভারত সহ অনেক দেশেই এখনও নারীদের অনেকরকম চ্যালেঞ্জের মুখোমুখি হতে হয়।
২০১১ সালে ১৯ ডিসেম্বর জাতিসংঘ আন্তর্জাতিক বালিকা শিশু দিবস (International Day of Girl Child) উদযাপনের প্রস্তাব পাস করে। তারপর ২০১২ সালে ১১ অক্টোবর প্রথমবার আন্তর্জাতিক কন্যা শিশু দিবস পালন হয়। আজ আন্তর্জাতিক কন্যা শিশু দিবস উপলক্ষে নেটিজেনরা সোশ্যাল মিডিয়ায় শুভেচ্ছা জানিয়েছেন।
