নয়াদিল্লি: আজ ২০২৩ সালের নোবেল শান্তি পুরস্কার বিজয়ীর ঘোষণার দিন। নারী অধিকার নিয়ে সোচ্চার ইরানি মানবাধিকার কর্মী নার্গেস মহম্মদি (Narges Mohammadi)-র নাম ঘোষণা করল নরওয়েইয়ান নোবেল কমিটি (Norwegian Nobel Committee)। ইরানে মহিলাদের উপর নিপীড়নের বিরুদ্ধে আন্দোলনে নেতৃত্ব দিয়েছেন এই মানবাধিকার কর্মী। সেদেশের ধর্মীয় শাসকদের চক্ষুশূল এই মানবাধিকার কর্মী বর্তমানে কারাবন্দি অবস্থায় আছেন। নার্গেস মোহাম্মদিকে ১৩ বার গ্রেফতার করা হয়েছে। ইরান সরকার তাঁকে ৩১ বছরের জেল এবং ১৫৪টি বেত্রাঘাতের শাস্তি দিয়েছে।

উল্লেখ্য, ১৯০১ সালে পদার্থবিজ্ঞানে ফ্রেডরিক প্যাসি এবং হেনরি ডুনান্টকে প্রথমবারের মতো নোবেল শান্তি পুরস্কার পান। রবীন্দ্রনাথ ঠাকুর প্রথম ভারতীয় যিনি ১৯১৩ সালে সাহিত্যে নোবেল পুরস্কার পান।
