রণজয় ডিসুজা নামে ওই চালক জানান, ৭ জানুয়ারি রাতে যখন ক্যান্ডোলিমের সার্ভিস অ্যাপার্টমেন্ট থেকে তাঁর কাছ ফোন আসে, তিনি সেখানে চলে যান। এরপর রিসেপশন থেকে কালো রঙের একটি ভারি ব্যাগ তাঁকে ওঠানোর কথা বলা হয়। ব্যাগ ওত ভারি কেন জিজ্ঞাসা করলে, তাঁকে জানান হয়, তার মধ্যে বিভিন্ন মাপের মদের বোতল রয়েছে। এরপর গাড়ি চালক সূচনাকে নিয়ে বেঙ্গালুরুর উদ্দেশে রওনা দেন।
গোয়া থেকে বেঙ্গালুরু, প্রায় ১২ ঘণ্টার রাস্তায় সূচনা শেঠ একেবারে শান্ত ছিল। গাড়ি চালকের সঙ্গে যেমন একটা, দুটো ছাড়া কোনও কথা বলতে শোনা যায়নি, তেমনি কোনও ফোনও আসেনি তার মোবাইলে। কাউকে ফোন করতেও দেখা যায়নি সূচনাকে। এমনই জানান ৭ জানুয়রি যে গাড়ির চালক সূচনাকে ক্যান্ডোলিম থেকে বেঙ্গালুরুতে নিয়ে যাচ্ছিলেন তিনি।
