গত ১৫ আগস্ট তালিবান কাবুল দখল করার আগে দেশ ছাড়েন আফগানিস্তানের (Afghanistan Crisis) প্রেসিডেন্ট আশরাফ গনি৷ তাজিকিস্তানে তাঁকে দেশদ্রোহীও চোর তকমা দিয়ে গ্রেপ্তারির দাবিও তোলা হয়েছে৷ এই প্রসঙ্গে এক ফেসবুক লাইভে গনি (Ashraf Ghani) জানান, “রক্তক্ষয় এড়াতে তিনি দেশ ছেড়েছিলেন। তাঁর দাবি, আমি কাবুল না ছাড়লে আফগানিস্তানের সাধারণ বাসিন্দাদের উপর তালিবান চড়াও হতো। সেটা কখনওই ভাল হতো না। তবে আমি ফিরবই। আর দেশবাসীকে রক্ষা করব।” কীভাবে ঘানি প্রেসিডেন্সিয়াল প্যালেসের দখল নেবেন, সে সম্পর্কে কোনও ধারণা দেননি তিনি।
