টোকিও অলিম্পিক ২০২০-তে ভারতের জয়রথ বার বার প্রকাশ্যে এসেছে৷ ব্রোঞ্জ জিতে দেশকে গর্বিত করেছেন ব্যাডমিন্টন তারকা পিভি সিন্ধুও (PV Sindhu)৷ তবে এখানেই শেষ কথা নয়, প্রথম ভারতীয় খেলোয়াড় হিসেবে পর পর দুটি অলিম্পিকে পদক জিতে ইতিহাস গড়েছেন সিন্ধু৷

রবিবার ব্রোঞ্জ পদক নির্ণায়ক ম্যাচে সিন্ধু ২১-১৩, ২১-১৫ হারালেন চিনের হে বিমজায়োকে। ২০১৬ রিও অলিম্পিকে রুপো জয়ের পাঁচ বছর পর টোকিও গেমসে ব্রোঞ্জ জিতলেন সিন্ধু। তিনিই দেশের অলিম্পিকের ইতিহাসে দুটি পদক জয়ী প্রথম মহিলা ক্রীড়াবিদ হলেন। কুস্তিগীর সুশীল কুমার এর আগে ২০০৮ বেজিং ও ২০১২ লন্ডন অলিম্পিকে কুস্তিতে ব্রোঞ্জ পদক জিতেছিলেন। অলিম্পিকে দ্বিতীয় বারের জন্য পদক জিতেই শুভেচ্ছার বন্যায় ভাসলেন পিভি সিন্ধু৷
