মরোক্কোয় ভয়াবহ ভূমিকম্প। ভূমিকম্পের তীব্রতার পরিমান রিখটার স্কেলে ৬.৮।ঘটনাটি ঘটেছে শুক্রবার। কেন্দ্র থেকে ১৮.৫ কিমি গভীরে ভূমিকম্পের উৎপত্তি। মারাকা থেকে ৭২ কিমি দক্ষিণ পশ্চিমে এবং ওকায়ামেডেন থেকে ৫৬ কিমি পশ্চিমে এই ভূমিকম্পের উৎপত্তি।
মারাকা এলাকায় বেশ কিছু পুরনো বাড়ি ভেঙে পড়ার খবর মিলেছে। এবং স্থানীয়দের সহায়তায় চালু করা হয়েছে উদ্ধারকার্য।মানুষজন বাড়িঘর ছেড়ে রাস্তায় নেমে পড়েছেন প্রাণ বাঁচানোর জন্য। একটি বাড়িতে একই পরিবারের পাঁচজনের মৃত্যুর খবর পাওয়া গিয়েছে।
