হামাসকে গোড়া থেকে উৎখাত করতে বদ্ধ পরিকর ইজরায়েলের প্রধানমন্ত্রী বেঞ্জামিন নেতানিয়াহু (Benjamin Netanyahu)। আর তাই ইয়াহিয়া সিনওয়ারকে (Yahya Sinwar) সরাসরি প্রকাশ্যে হত্যা করার হুমকি দিলেন তিনি। সেই সঙ্গে হামাসকে নির্মূল করার কথা জানালেন তিনি। রবিবার নেতানিয়াহু জানান, ঐতিহ্যবাহী পুরিম শহরে সাধারণ মানুষের ওপর হামাস হামলা চালিয়েছে। সিনওয়ারকেও একইভাবে হত্যা করা হবে।
