৯৫ বছর বয়েসে প্রয়াত হয়েছেন পাঞ্জাবের প্রাক্তন মুখ্যমন্ত্রী তথা শিরোমণি আকালি দলের অন্যতম পথপ্রদর্শক প্রকাশ সিং বাদল। মোহালির একটি প্রাইভেট হাসপাতালে শেষ নিশ্বাস ত্যাগ করেন তিনি।পাঞ্জাবের পাঁচবারের মুখ্য়মন্ত্রী ছিলেন তিনি।
তাঁর মৃত্যুতে শোক প্রকাশ করেছেন প্রধানমন্ত্রী নরেন্দ্র মোদী, রাজনাথ সিং সহ কেন্দ্রীয় মন্ত্রী ও বিভিন্ন রাজনৈতিক দলের নেতারা। ভারত সরকারের তরফ থেকে ২ দিনের পূর্ণ রাষ্ট্রীয় শোক ঘোষণা করা হয়েছে। ২৬ এবং ২৭ এপ্রিল এই দু দিন সারা দেশ জুড়ে শোক দিবস ঘোষনা করা হয়েছে।
