মহারাষ্ট্রে এক দফায় রাজ্যের ২৮৮টি আসনে ভোট বুধবার। তার আগে আজ, সোমবার মহারাষ্ট্র বিধানসভা নির্বাচনের শেষ দিনের প্রচারে রক্তারক্তি কাণ্ড। নাগপুরের কাটোল বিধানসভা কেন্দ্রে প্রচারে গিয়ে আক্রান্ত হলেন এনসিপি (শরদ পাওয়ার)-র প্রভাবশালী নেতা অনিল দেশমুখ। তাঁকে গাড়িতে লক্ষ্য করে ঢিল ছোঁড়া হয়। গাড়ির কাঁচ ভেঙে তাঁর মাথায় এসে লাগে। ঢিলের আঘাতে মাথায় ফেটে যায় তাঁর। নিকটবর্তী হাসপাতালে তাঁকে ভর্তি করা হয়েছে। বিজেপি ও অজিত পাওয়ার পন্থী নেতাদের দিকেই হামলার অভিযোগ উঠেছে।
কাটোল বিধানসভায় এনসিপি-র শরদ পাওয়ারের শিবিরের নেতা অনিল দেশমুখের ছেলে সালিল দেশমুখ প্রার্থী হয়ে লড়ছেন।
