আগামী বছর বিধানসভা নির্বাচনের আগে মনীপুরে আরও শক্তিশালী হল বিজেপি। মনীপুরে কংগ্রেসের এক সময়ের মুখ তথা প্রাক্তন রাজ্য সভাপতি গোবিন্দদাস কোবনথোউজাম যোগ দিলেন বিজেপিতে।
