Mehul Choksi: মেহুল চোকসীর জামিনের আবেদন খারিজ, জেলেই থাকছেন গুজরাটের প্রতারক হিরে ব্যবসায়ী
দিন দশেক আগে বেলজিয়ামে গ্রেফতার করা হয় পিএনবি ব্যাঙ্কে ১৩ হাজার ৬৫০ কোটির ঋণ খেলাপ মামলায় অভিযুক্ত হিরে ব্যবসায়ী মেহুল চোকসী-কে।
Mehul Choksi: দিন দশেক আগে বেলজিয়ামে গ্রেফতার করা হয় পিএনবি ব্যাঙ্কে ১৩ হাজার ৬৫০ কোটির ঋণ খেলাপ মামলায় অভিযুক্ত হিরে ব্যবসায়ী মেহুল চোকসী-কে। বড়মাপের আর্থিক দুর্নীতি করে ২০১৮ সালে ভারত থেকে পালিয়েছিলেন গুজরাটের হিরে ব্যবসায়ী চোকসি। গ্রেফতারের পরই চস্কির আইনজীবীরা জামিনের আবেদন করেছিলেন। কিন্তু বেলজিয়ামের আদালতে তিন সদস্যের বিচারপতির বেঞ্চ চোকসির জামিনের আবেদন খারিজ করে দেন। ফলে চোকসীকেই বেলজিয়ামের জেলেই থাকতে হচ্ছে। ভারত সরকার ইতিমধ্যেই বেলজিয়ামের কর্তৃপক্ষের কাথে চোকসীকে প্রত্যপর্ণের অনুরোধ জানিয়েছে।
