দক্ষিণ প্রশান্ত মহাসাগরের পাশের ছোট্ট দেশ ভানায়াতু (Vanuatu)-তে বড় মাত্রার ভূমিকম্প। রিখটার স্কেলে ভূমিকম্পের মাত্রা ছিল ৬.৮। মহাসাগরের পাশের দেশ হওয়ায় এত বড় মাপের ভূমিকম্পে সুনামির আশঙ্কা থাকে। ভূমিকম্পের তীব্রতা ও আর কিছু বিষয় খতিয়ে দেখে জারি করা হয় সুনামি সতর্কতা।
