নববর্ষে (Subha Noboborsho) সেজে উঠেছেন বাঙালিরা (Bengalis)। প্রবাসে থাকা বাঙালিরা নাচে, গানে মেতে ওঠেন নববর্ষে। লাল পাড় সাদা শাড়ি পরে নাচে, গানে মেতে ওছেন প্রবাসীরা। পুরুষদেরও দেখা যায়, পাঞ্জাবি পরে নববর্ষ উদযাপন করতে। নিউ ইয়র্কের জ্যাকসন হাইটসে নাচে, গানে মেতে উঠতে দেখা যায় প্রবাসী বাঙালিদের। আর সেখানেই বাংলাদেশিদের (Bangladesh) সঙ্গে ভারতীয় (Indian) বাঙালিদেরও দেখা যায় একযোগে বৎস বরণের অনুষ্ঠানে মেতে উঠতে। বাংলাদেশ যখন অস্থির, নববর্ষের উদযাপন অনুষ্ঠানে ইসলামি উগ্রপন্থীরা বার বার হামলা চালাচ্ছে, সেই সময় নিউ ইয়র্কে (New York) দেখা যায় একেবারে অন্য ছবি। যেখানে নাচে, গানে মেতে ওঠেন বাঙালিরা। মাছ, মাংস, মিষ্টিতে বাঙালি যে নববর্ষের আবাহন করে, এবার তার ছোঁয়া দেখা না গেলেও, বাংলা গানে মেতে ওঠেন প্রবাসীরা।
