ভারতীয় প্রতিনিধি তাঁর বক্তব্য পেশ করতে গিয়ে বলেন "পাকিস্তানের প্রতিনিধিরা মনেপ্রাণে বিশ্বাস করুক বা লোভই করুক না কেন, জম্মু ও কাশ্মীর এবং লাদাখের সমগ্র কেন্দ্রশাসিত অঞ্চল ভারতের অবিচ্ছেদ্য অংশ ছিল এবং আগামীতেও থাকবে।
পাকিস্তান ইস্যুতে আবারও জাতিসংঘে সরব হল ভারত। ভারতীয় প্রতিনিধি তাঁর বক্তব্য পেশ করতে গিয়ে বলেন "পাকিস্তানের প্রতিনিধিরা মনেপ্রাণে বিশ্বাস করুক বা লোভই করুক না কেন, জম্মু ও কাশ্মীর এবং লাদাখের সমগ্র কেন্দ্রশাসিত অঞ্চল ভারতের অবিচ্ছেদ্য অংশ ছিল এবং আগামীতেও থাকবে। ," বলেছেন জাতিসংঘের সাধারণ পরিষদে ভারতীয় প্রতিনিধি। কাশ্মীর ইস্যুতে প্রতিনিধি দল নিয়েও বক্তব্য রাখতেও দেখা যায় তাঁকে। তিনি বলেন - আমরা এই প্রতিনিধিদলের কাছ থেকে নতুন কিছু আশা করি না। কারন তাদের কাছ থেকে শুধুমাত্র ভারতের মূল্যবোধের প্রতি গভীর নিরাপত্তাহীনতা এবং ঘৃণা পোষণ করা ছাড়া কোন উদ্দেশ্য নেই। কিন্তু আমাদের ভারত ধর্মনিরপেক্ষতার পরিচয়পত্র যাকে নিয়ে আমাদের গর্ববোধ হয়।
