ইজরায়েল হামাস যুদ্ধে আরও ৩ জন আইডিএফের সেনা প্রাণ হারাল। এই নিয়ে মোট ১৩৭ জন সেনা নিহত হয়েছে এই যুদ্ধে। ৭ই অক্টোবরের হামলার পর থেকে প্রথমে বোমাবর্ষণ এবং পরে স্থল অভিযানে নামে ইজরায়েলের আইডিএফ।
স্থল অভিযানে নামার পর থেকেই অত্যাধুনিক অস্ত্র থাকার সত্বেও কোনভাবেই আটকানো যাচ্ছে না আইডিএফ সেনার মৃত্যু। যদিও সাধারণ প্যালেস্তানীয়দের মৃত্যুর সংখ্যা এই অবধি ২০ হাজার ছাড়িয়ে গেছে। নির্বিচারে বোমা মারার কারণে বেশিরভাগই বিস্ফোরণে মৃত্যু ঘটেছে। যার মধ্যে রয়েছে শিশু ও মহিলা।
