সন্দেশখালি কান্ডে তৃণমূল নেতা শেখ শাহাজাহানকে গ্রেফতার করার বিষয়ে কলকাতা হাইকোর্ট নির্দেশ দিলেও এর মধ্যেই রাজ্য সরকারকে চিঠি দিলেন রাজ্যপাল সিভি আনন্দ বোস।
তিনি রাজ্য সরকারকে চিঠি লিখে ৭২ ঘন্টার মধ্যে রিপোর্ট পেশ করতে বলেন যদি তারা শাহজাহানকে ধরতে ব্যর্থ হন। এর পাশাপাশি একটি শিশুকে ছুঁড়ে ফেলার অভিযোগে অজ্ঞাত পরিচয় ব্যক্তির বিরুদ্ধে তদন্ত করারও নির্দেশ দিয়েছেন রাজ্যপাল।
