রবিবার ৭৬'তম প্রজাতন্ত্র দিবস উপলক্ষ্যে রাজভবনে বিশেষ অনুষ্ঠানের আয়োজন করা হয়েছিল। কিন্তু সেই অনুষ্ঠানে কলকাতা পুলিশের ব্যান্ডের প্রবেশ ঘিরে বাধল বিতর্ক। এদিন সাধারণতন্ত্র দিবসের অনুষ্ঠান উপলক্ষ্যে কলকাতা পুলিশের ব্যান্ডকে রাজভবনের ঢুকতে বাধা দেওয়া হয়। তা নিয়ে তীব্র ক্ষোভ প্রকাশ করেন মুখ্যমন্ত্রী মমত বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়। এরপর বিষয়টি নিজে খতিয়ে দেখেন তৃণমূল সুপ্রিমো। ক্ষুব্ধ মুখ্যমন্ত্রী বলেন, রাজ্যভবন রাজ্যের মধ্যে। কলকাতা পুলিশ নিরাপত্তা দেয়। তাহলে পুলিশরে ব্যান্ড কেন ভিতরে ঢুকতে পারবে না? পরে মুখ্যমন্ত্রীর হস্তক্ষেপে রাজভবনে প্রবেশ করে কলকাতা পুলিশের ব্যান্ড ৷ মুখ্যমন্ত্রী এবং রাজ্যপালের সামনে অনুষ্ঠানও করে।
