এবার নতুন করে ৭টি জেলা গঠন করা হল পশ্চিমবঙ্গে (West Bengal)। সোমবার এমনই ঘোষণা করেন মুখ্যমন্ত্রী মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায় (Mamata Banerjee)। মুখ্যমন্ত্রী জানান যে ৭টি নতুন জেলা নতুন করে গঠন করা হয়েছে, সেগুলি হল, সুন্দরবন, ইছামতী, রানাঘাট, বিষ্ণুপুর, জঙ্গিপুর, বহরমপুর এবং বসিরহাট। প্রসঙ্গত এর আগে রাজ্যে ২৩টি জেলা হল। এবার তা বেড়ে দাড়িয় হল ৩০টি।
