সকাল ৮টা ৫০ মিনিট নাগাদ শিয়ালদহ যাওয়ার পথে রাঙাপানি স্টেশনের কাছে দূরপাল্লার ট্রেনটি সিগন্যালে দাঁড়িয়েছিল। এমন সময়ে একটি মালগাড়ি পিছন থেকে সজোরে এসে ধাক্কা মারে কাঞ্চনজঙ্ঘা এক্সপ্রেসে।
Kanchanjungha Express Accident: সোমবার সকালে শিয়লাদহগামী ডাউন কাঞ্চনজঙ্ঘা এক্সপ্রেস দুর্ঘটনার খবর মিলতেই দুর্ঘটনারস্থলের উদ্দেশ্যে রওনা দেন রেলমন্ত্রী অশ্বিনী বৈষ্ণব (Ashwini Vaishnaw)। সকাল ৮টা ৫০ মিনিট নাগাদ শিয়ালদহ যাওয়ার পথে রাঙাপানি স্টেশনের কাছে দূরপাল্লার ট্রেনটি সিগন্যালে দাঁড়িয়েছিল। এমন সময়ে একটি মালগাড়ি পিছন থেকে সজোরে এসে ধাক্কা মারে কাঞ্চনজঙ্ঘা এক্সপ্রেসে। মালগাড়ির চালক, সহকারী চালক এবং দূরপাল্লার যাত্রী মিলিয়ে মোট ৮ জনের মৃত্যুর খবর পাওয়া গিয়েছে এখনও পর্যন্ত। আহত অন্ততপক্ষে ৩০। এদিন দুপুরের আগেই দার্জিলিং পৌঁছন রেলমন্ত্রী। বাইকে চেপে ঘটনাস্থলের উদ্দেশ্যে রওনা দেন তিনি।
