Vece Paes Passed Away: অলিম্পিকে ব্রোঞ্জ পদকজয়ী এবং টেনিস কিংবদন্তি লিয়েন্ডার পেসের বাবা ভেস পেজ প্রয়াত
প্রয়াত। বেশ কিছুদিন ধরে তিনি অসুস্থ ছিলেন। আজ ভোর রাতে কলকাতার একটি বেসরকারি হাসপাতালে তিনি শেষ নিঃশ্বাস ত্যাগ করেন। বয়স হয়েছিলো ৮০ বছর। ১৯৭২ সালে মিউনিখ অলিম্পিকসে ব্রোঞ্জ জয়ী ভারতীয় হকি দলের অন্যতম সদস্য ছিলেন তিনি। হকি ছাড়াও ক্রিকেট, ফুটবল ও রাগবিও খেলেছেন তিনি। ভেস পেজ স্পোর্টস মেডিসিনের খ্যাতনামা চিকিৎসক ছিলেন। তার পুত্র টেনিস তারকা লিয়েন্ডার পেজ মৃত্যুর সময় তার পাশে ছিলেন। ভেস পেজের মৃত্যুতে ক্রীড়ামহলে গভীর শোকের ছায়া নেমে এসেছে।
