পদক হাতছাড়া হলেও মহিলা হকি দলের মধ্যে নতুন ভারতের প্রতিচ্ছবি দেখা গেছে৷ টোকিও অলিম্পিকে তাদের সাফল্য দেশের বহু মেয়েকে হকি খেলায় কেরিয়ার গড়তে মোটিভেট করবে৷
অলিম্পিক হকিতে ব্রোঞ্জ হাতছাড়া হয়েছে ভারতের মহিলা হকি দলের। যদিও তাঁদের পাশে দাঁড়িয়ে উৎসাহ দিলেন প্রধানমন্ত্রী নরেন্দ্র মোদী৷ মহিলা দলের সদস্যদের সঙ্গে ফোনে কথাও বলেন তিনি। কয়েকজন খেলোয়াড় কাঁদতে শুরু করলে প্রধানমন্ত্রী তাঁদের ভেঙে না পড়তে অনুরোধ করেন। তাঁদের পারফরম্যান্সের জন্য প্রশংসা করেন।
