নীরজ চোপড়া (Neeraj Chopra)-কে নিজের ছেলে বলে পরিচয় দিয়েছেন। এবার নীরজকে পাকিস্তানে আসার আমন্ত্রণ জানানোর ইচ্ছাপ্রকাশ করলেন প্যারিস অলিম্পিকে জ্যাভলিন থ্রো-য়ে সোনাজয়ী আর্শাদ নাদিমের (Arshad Nadeem) মা রিওয়াজ পরভিন (Raziah Parveen)। অলিম্পিকের ব্যক্তিগত বিভাগে প্রথম সোনাজয়ী পাকিস্তানীর মা রিওয়াজ বললেন, "আমি নীরজকে এবার আমার বাড়িতে ডাকব।"
প্যারিস অলিম্পিকে পুরুষদের জ্যাভলিন থ্রো-য়ে সোনা জেতেন পাকিস্তানের আর্শাদ নাদিম (Arshad Nadeem), আর রুপো পান ভারতের নীরজ চোপড়া। অলিম্পিকে পদকজয়ী দুই অ্য়াথলিটের মা সীমান্তের ব্যবধান মুছে বড় বার্তা দেন। নীরজের মা সরোজ দেবী বলেছিন, আমার এক ছেলে রুপো জিতেছে, আর এক ছেলে সোনা। আর্শাদ আমার ছেলের মত।
