ক্যালিফোর্নিয়ার নাপা উপত্যকার (Napa Valley) বেরেসা হ্রদে একটি ঘূর্ণায়মান গর্তের সন্ধান মিলল। ২০১৮-১৯ এও এমন গর্ত প্রথম দেখা যেতেই তার নামকরণ করা হয় 'নরকের প্রবেশদ্বার' (Portal To Hell)। স্থানীয়রা সেই আশ্চর্য ঘূর্ণি প্রথম দেখেন। ধীরে ধীরে সেই 'প্রবেশদ্বার' হয়ে যায় ৭২ ফুট চওড়া। আতঙ্কিত হয়ে পড়েন স্থানীয়রা। কারণ হ্রদের জল ৪.৭ মিটারের উপরে উঠে গেলেই প্রতি সেকেন্ডে হ্রদের ১,৩৬০ কিউবিক মিটার জল শুষে নেয় সে। তারপর থেকে 'নরকের প্রবেশপথে'র ছবি ভাইরাল হয়েছে।
