অবশেষে পঞ্জাব পুলিশ গ্রেফতার করল খালিস্তানীপন্থী নেতা তথা 'ওয়ারিস পঞ্জাব দি'-র প্রধান অমৃতপাল সিং (Amritpal Singh Arrested)-কে। রাজ্যের সেরা পুলিশ কর্তা, সেরা গোয়েন্দাদের কাজে লাগিয়ে, বেশ কিছু দিন ইন্টারনেট পরিষেবা বন্ধ রেখে ৩৫ দিন ধরে অক্লান্ত পরিশ্রমের পর মোগা থেকে অমৃতপালকে হেফাজতে নিল পঞ্জাব পুলিশ। তাঁর সাঙ্গোপাঙ্গোদের ধরতে পারলেও, কিছুতেই ধরা যাচ্ছিল না অমৃতপালকে।
এই ইস্যুতে পঞ্জাবের মুখ্যমন্ত্রী ভগবন্ত মান জানালেন, ৩৫ দিন খোঁজার পর অমৃতপাল সিং আজ ধর পড়ল। যারা দেশের শান্তি বিঘ্নিত করার চেষ্টা করে তাদের বিরুদ্ধে কঠোর ব্যবস্থা নেওয়া হবে। আমরা প্রতিশোধের রাজনীতি করি না। কোনও নির্দোষ মানুষের জীবনকে ব্যাঘাত ঘটানো হবে না।"
