নির্বাচনী প্রতিশ্রুতিতে তেলাঙ্গানায় সব মহিলাদের জন্য সরকারী বাসে বিনামূল্যে সফরের কথা ঘোষণা করেছিল কংগ্রেস। দক্ষিণ ভারতের এই রাজ্যে বিপুল সংখ্যক আসনে জিতে প্রথমবার ক্ষমতায় এসেছে কংগ্রেস। মুখ্যমন্ত্রী হিসেবে শপথ নিয়েছেন রাজ্যের কংগ্রেস সভাপতি রেভান্ত রেড্ডি। আর মুখ্যমন্ত্রী হওয়ার পরেই কথা রেখে তেলাঙ্গানায় সব সরকারী বাসে মহিলাদের জন্য বিনামূল্যে সফর শুরু হচ্ছে আজ, শনিবার দুপুর ২টো থেকে।
