ভারত ও শ্রীলঙ্কার মধ্যে চালু করা হল ফেরী সার্ভিস। তামিলনাড়ুর নাগাপট্টিনম থেকে শ্রীলঙ্কার কঙ্কেসন্তুরায়তে চালু করা হল এই ফেরী সার্ভিস ব্যবস্থা। অনুষ্ঠানে ফেরা সার্ভিসের উদ্বোধন করেন জলপরিবহন আয়ুশ মন্ত্রকের মন্ত্রী সর্বানন্দ শোনওয়াল।
অনুষ্ঠানে ভার্চুয়ালি থেকে উদ্বোধনে অংশ নেন বিদেশমন্ত্রী এস জয়শঙ্কর। নতুন এই ফেরী উদ্ধোধনের জেরে দুইদেশের মধ্যে পরিবহন ব্যবস্থা এবং সম্পর্ক আরও শক্তিশালী হবে বলে মনে করা হচ্ছে।
