দিল্লি দেশের রাজধানীর পাশাপাশি দূষণের রাজধানী হিসেবেও বেশ খ্যাত। বছর ঘুরে শীতকাল এলেই দেখা যায়, কুয়াশার বদলে ধোঁয়াশার চাদরে ঢেকেছে রাজধানী। স্থানীয় গাজিপুরের ডাম্পিং ইয়ার্ডে (Ghazipur landfill ) গতকাল আগুন ধরিয়ে দেওয়া হয়। এখনও সেখান থেকে ধোঁয়ার নির্গমন অব্যাহত। এই পরিস্থিতিতে বিষাক্ত ধোঁয়ায় দমবন্ধ হয়ে আসার অভিযোগ জানিয়েছেন স্থানীয় এলাকার বাসিন্দারা।
