এবার থেকে লাইন অফ কন্ট্রোলে অর্থাৎ এলওসি-তে মোতায়েন থাকবেন মহিলা সেনা অফিসার। এই প্রথম দেশের সুরক্ষায় সীমান্ত এলাকায় অর্থাৎ এলওসি-তে মহিলা অফিসার মোতায়েন থাকবেন, এই সিদ্ধান্তে সিলমোহর বসালেন প্রতিরক্ষামন্ত্রী রাজনাথ সিং। যে সিদ্ধান্ত প্রকাশ্যে আসতেই তা নিয়ে জোর জল্পনা শুরু হয়েছে।
