হিন্দি ভাষার প্রচার ও প্রসারে রাষ্ট্র সংঘকে (UN) ১১ লক্ষ ৬০ হাজার কোটি ডলারের অতিরিক্ত অনুদান দিল ভারত। বিশ্বব্যাপী সংস্থায় ভারতের স্থায়ী মিশনের 'শার্জ দ্য ফেয়ারর্স' এর আর রবীন্দ্র (R Ravindra) গতকাল রাষ্ট্রসংঘের গ্লোবাল কমিউনিকেশনস বিভাগের নিউজ ও মিডিয়া ডিভিশনের ডিরেক্টার ইয়ান ফিলিপ্সের( Ian Phillips, Director of the News and Media Division of the United Nations Department of Global Communications) হাতে এই চেক তুলে দেন। ভারতীয় মিশন জানিয়েছে, রাষ্ট্রসংঘের নিয়মিত এবং শান্তিরক্ষা বাজেটে যে হিসেব করা হয় তার অতিরিক্ত বিশেষ এই অর্থ সাহায্যের লক্ষ্য হল হিন্দি ভাষাকে গ্লোবাল কমিউনিকেশনস বিভাগের সংবাদ এবং মাল্টি মিডিয়া কনটেন্টকে মূল ধারায় নিয়ে আসা।
