রাষ্ট্রসংঘ নতুন বছর অর্থাৎ ২০২৩ সালকে ‘আন্তর্জাতিক মিলেট বর্ষ’ (International Millet Year 2023) হিসাবে ঘোষণা করেছেন। আগামী দিনে জোয়ার-বাজরা-রাগি দিয়ে তৈরি খাদ্যের চল পুনরায় ফিরিয়ে আনতেই এই উদ্যোগ নিয়েছে রাষ্ট্রসংঘ। আর সেই খুশিতে কেন্দ্রীয় কৃষিমন্ত্রী নরেন্দ্র সিং তোমার (Narendra Singh Tomar) মঙ্গলবার সংসদ ভবনে (Parliament House) লোকসভা এবং রাজ্যসভার সাংসদদের জন্যে একটি বিশেষ মধ্যাহ্নভোজনের আয়োজন করেছিলেন। বিশেষ অতিথি হিসাবে পৌঁছে গিয়েছিলেন প্রধানমন্ত্রী নরেন্দ্র মোদী (Narendra Modi)। সাংসদদের সঙ্গে ঘুরে ঘুরে দেখলেন সকল আয়োজন। জোয়ার-বাজরা-রাগি দিয়ে তৈরি খাবার খেলেন।
