সাক্ষ্য প্রমাণের ভিত্তিতে সঞ্জয় রায় নামে এক অভিযুক্তকে গ্রেফতার করেছে কলকাতা পুলিশ।
কলকাতা: আরজিকর মেডিক্যাল কলেজ ও হাসপাতালে (RG Kar Medical College & Hospital) শিক্ষানবিশ তরুণী চিকিৎসককে ধর্ষণ করে গলা টিপে খুন করা হয়। সাক্ষ্য প্রমাণের ভিত্তিতে সঞ্জয় রায় নামে এক অভিযুক্তকে গ্রেফতার করেছে কলকাতা পুলিশ। তবে ময়না তদন্তের পর পুলশের রিপোর্ট অনুসারে, এই ঘটনা একজনের পক্ষ সম্ভব নয়, আন্দোলনকারী চিকিৎসকদের দাবি, এই ঘটনায় সঞ্জয়ের সঙ্গে আরও কেউ জড়িত আছে। মৃত চিকিৎসকের ন্যায় বিচারের দাবিতে উত্তাল পশ্চিমবঙ্গ, এদিকে দেশব্যাপী ধর্মঘটের ডাক দিয়েছে ফেডারেশন অফ রেসিডেন্ট ডক্টরস অ্যাসোসিয়েশন (Federation of Resident Doctors Association)।
