গত অক্টোবর থেকেই কাশ্মীরে (Kashmir) তুষারপাত শুরু হয়েছে। শ্রীনগরের (Srinagar) তাপমাত্রা মাইনাস পাঁচ, ছয়তেও পৌঁছে গিয়েছে। ডাল লেকে (Dal Lake) জমতে দেখা গিয়েছে বরফের চাদর। বরফের সেই পাতলা আস্তরণ ভেঙে ডাল লেকে পর্যটকদের নিয়ে নিত্য চলছে হাউস বোট সাওয়ারি। এরই মাঝে জম্মু কাশ্মীরের (Jammu and Kashmir) বান্দিপুর জেলার বনাঞ্চলে ঘটল বিধ্বংসী অগ্নিকাণ্ড। দীর্ঘ দিন ঘরে একটানা শুষ্ক আবহাওয়ার কারণে জঙ্গলে আগুন লেগে গিয়েছে বলে জানা যাচ্ছে। জঙ্গলের গাছ পালা শুকনো হওয়ার আগুন দ্রুত ছড়িয়ে পড়েছে। স্থানীয়রা জঙ্গলের আগুন নেভাতে তৎপর।
