পশ্চিমবঙ্গ নির্বাচনের (West Bengal Elections 2021) বাকি ৩ দফার ভোটগ্রহণ একদিনে করার অনুরোধ জানিয়ে কমিশনে চিঠি দিয়েছিলেন তৃণমূল সাংসদ ডেরেক ও ব্রায়েন (Derek O Brien)। আজ চিঠির জবাব দিয়ছে কমিশন (ECI)। তারা বলেছে, "ষষ্ঠ, সপ্তম ও অষ্টম দফার ভোটগ্রহণ একসঙ্গে করা সম্ভব নয়। কমিশন ইতিমধ্যেই বিশদ নির্দেশিকা বাধ্যতামূলক করেছে যাতে কোনও ব্যতিক্রম ছাড়াই সুরক্ষার নিয়মগুলি মেনে চলা হয়।"
