দেশের প্রধান বিচারপতির পদ হিসেবে কার্যকালের মেয়াদ শেষ হয়েছে ডি ওয়াই চন্দ্রচূড়ের (Chief Justice DY Chandrachud)। তার আগে বিচারপতি সঞ্জীব খান্নাকে (Sanjeev Khanna) উত্তরসূরি হিসেবে কেন্দ্রের কাছে সুপারিশ করেছিলেন তিনি। বৃহস্পতিবার সেই প্রস্তাবেই সিলমোহর বসালেন রাষ্ট্রপতি দ্রৌপদী মুর্মূ। জানা যাচ্ছে ১১ নভেম্বর প্রধান বিচারপতি হিসেবে শপথগ্রহণ হবে তাঁর। এদিন কেন্দ্রের তরফ থেকে বিজ্ঞপ্তি প্রকাশ করা হয়।
