কর্ণাটকের বিধানসভা নির্বাচনে (সম্প্রতি সম্পন্ন হয়) বিজেপির টিকিটে প্রতিদ্বন্দিতা করবেন। এই আশ্বাস দিয়ে এক শিল্পপতির কাছ থেকে ৪ কোটি হড়প করেন এক হিন্দুত্ববাদী অ্যাক্টিভিস্ট। এমন অভিযোগ প্রকাশ্যে আসতেই চিত্রা কুন্দাপুরা নামে ওই হিন্দুত্ববাদী সক্রিয় কর্মীকে কর্ণাটক পুলিশের তরফে গ্রেফতার করা হয়। যে খবর নিয়ে জোর জল্পনা শুরু হয়ে যায়। যদিও চিত্রা কুন্দাপুরার তরফে এ বিষয়ে পালটা কোনও মন্তব্য করা হয়নি।
